Qualifications and Partners

Higher education study offers various qualifications. Those available at Kingston College are:

PGCE/PTLLS/DTLLS - These courses are for Teacher/Trainer/Tutor Training for the Lifelong Learning Sector, adult and community education, The applicants should be qualified/experienced in the subject they intend to teach. 

BSc/BA Degrees (also known as Bachelor  Degrees) - These allow the development of an understanding of a complex body of knowledge in the field of study. They are usually studied full-time over three years.

FdA/FdSC Foundation Degrees - Work-related qualifications that enhance career prospects or are a route to a full Degree programme. These are studied part-time and are equivalent to the first two years of a BA or BSc Degree

Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) – Work-related higher education qualifications. These are designed to give you the skills and knowledge required in industry. HNDs can be 'topped up' to a Degree with a final year's study at University.

Certificate in Higher Education  - Equivalent to 120 Cats points at level 4, this can be studied part-time over one or two years and is a route to obtaining higher level qualifications.

Foundation Years (available in Science or Computing and Mathematics) - one year's full-time study preparing students for an additional three years' full-time Degree study at Kingston University.
