Our well equipped and professional standard Engineering workshops are the hub of our extensive range of Motor Vehicle courses which are offered at all levels and appropriate to learners of all abilities.

For learners who wish to develop vehicle engineering design skills whilst gaining an excellent understanding of how vehicle systems are constructed, maintained and repaired, we offer the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Vehicle Technology (please follow the link to the full course information leaflet.). This course is suitable for learners with high aspirations and expectations, and the majority of applications are from school leavers who want a course that will give them the best foundation knowledge for becoming a degree-qualified engineer. Other applications are received from A level students who consider a course with slightly more technical content appropriate for progression to university. You will find additional information about this course in the document to the right of this page.

For work-based learners interested who wish to support their practical skills with the theoretical background, we offer the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair, and the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair - please follow the links to take a look at full information about these courses and their entry requirements.

Kingston College has teamed up with IMI (The Institute of the Motor Industry) to provide unique courses that will give you a distinct advantage when applying for a job or start working as a vehicle technician in the motor industry.

The IMI Level 1 course in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair can be taken as either an Award, Certificate or Diploma, Additional information about this course can be found in the document to the right of this page.

British School of Motoring

In an exciting new development - and as part of your IMI course - the British School of Motoring (BSM) will visit you at Kingston College on several occasions to help you prepare to pass your driving test.  The help you will receive will include:

  • Guidance on how to apply for a provisional driving licence
  • BSM Learner Charter and the structure of learning to drive
  • Road safety and quiz
  • Spreccial offers, lesson prices, study material and full driving packages
  • The BSM simulator, what it does and why we have one
  • Expert help and tuition to assist you study for your theory test
  • Off-road driving - a fully qualified instructor will teach you in one hour sessions over four weeks.
