If you want to develop your qualifications in the electrotechnical field, including becoming a fully qualified installation electrician, perhaps you should take a look at the courses listed below, all of which are delivered on a part time basis:

Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations	Part-time, either one evening a week or day release, one day a week	Next start date: July 2013
City & Guilds 2357 - NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems	This course runs over three years, part time, either two evenings a week or day release, one day a week.	September 2012
City & Guilds 2396 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations

Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering - Electrical and Electronic Engineering	One day a week for two years	September 2013
Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering - Mechanical Engineering	One day a week for two years	September 2013
Engineering Conversion to Higher National Diploma (HND)	One day a week for one year.	September 2013
