Will I pay the overseas tuition fee?

In order to assess students for the correct level of tuition fee, Kingston College uses the Learning and Skills Council (Fees and Awards) Regulations. Students are required to show evidence of their residency and immigration status in the UK. If you fulfil certain residence and immigration criteria you will be assessed as a home student and will pay the lower tier fee. However, if you do not meet the criteria for the home student fee, you will pay the higher tier fee (overseas student rate).

In order to be assessed as a home student you must meet the following main conditions:

  • You must have lived in the UK, an EEA country, a British Overseas Territory, a European Overseas Territory or Switzerland for the three years immediately preceding the start of your course, and
  • Your residency in the UK must not be wholly or mainly for the purpose of full time education.

Please note that nationality alone does not confer entitlement to home fee status.
