
This is the third of three levels of study (Award, Certificate and Diploma) for First Line Managers. It offers practical skills to new and aspiring managers. This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.
Entry Requirements
The Diploma in First Line Management is designed for new and aspiring managers or those with management experience who want to gain an accredited qualification.
International Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements.
Course Duration
The Diploma in First Line Management is a five day programme, held on a Thursday between 9.30am-5pm.
The next course will be May 2012, with exact dates to be confirmed.

Content and Assessment
Learners will cover the following topics:
- Personal Development as a First Line Manager
- Resource Planning
- Meeting Stakeholder Needs and Customer Care
- Improving Team Performance
- Developing Individuals and Teams
- Managing and Communicating Information
- Being a Leader
Moodle is used to support classroom-based teaching.
A written assessment is undertaken for each module to achieve the Diploma in First Line Management.
Progression
Students can progress to the CMI Award, Certificate or Diploma in Management and Leadership at level 5.

The Diploma in First Line Management costs £1,450 for study in 2011/12.
Learners will be registered with the CMI and will receive student membership of the Institute.
