City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping and Accounts

This course is intended for individuals who wish to gain a level 1 qualification as a starting point for a career in Bookkeeping and Accounts.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Level 2 at Grade C in English and Maths (preferred).

Course Duration

10 week course, with exam taken in week 11 - 2.5 hours per week - Next course commences September 2012.

Content

• Completion of financial documents such as invoices and credit notes
• Recording of cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
• Preparing bank reconciliations
• Understanding the petty cash imprest systems and trial balances

Progression

• City and Guilds Level 2
• AAT Diploma in Accounting  Level 2
