This is for Performers who have a serious interest in developing a wide and marketable range of performance skills, and combines the three major performance areas of Acting, Singing and Dance. Emphasis is on development of high-level professional performance skills, supported by relevant theory. It is a dominantly practical training and provides numerous opportunities for performance, both stage and to camera.
Entry Requirements
Interview and audition, see additional audition information. Four GCSEs at grade C or above (usually including English), or Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts (Merit Level). Experience at an appropriate level.
International Entry Requirements:
High School Leaving Certificate at C grade or above or other related comparable qualifications. Satisfactory reference, successful interview and audition if student is in the UK, video audition accepted if student applying from overseas. IELTS 5.0 or an equivalent English Language Certificate

Content
This Diploma combines the development of acting, dancing and singing skills. Delivered through a mixture of practical workshops, classes, lectures and rehearsals but with a particular focus on performances. You will get the opportunity to perform in a variety of performance venues and spaces in and around London. This cutting edge course offers units in all three disciplines, and you are offered training in techniques as well as creative subjects.
The unit choices are designed to challenge and stretch you as a performer. You will study Contemporary, Jazz, Urban and Ballet Dance techniques, alongside Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre as well as Singing, Acting for Stage, Acting for Film and Television.
The course is primarily practical, with an emphasis on developing strong performance skills and preparing students to work in the industry or follow further training within a Higher Education institution.
Additionally, you will get the opportunity to explore the history of the Performing Arts and learn about the industry through research-based work. We also have frequent theatre visits (some may be abroad) and we invite professional companies to work with us on a regular basis.
Progression
Relevant degree/HND courses at university/performing arts schools, work in the performing arts industry. This course is equivalent to three A Levels. Past students were offered places on degrees at a range of university and specialist performance schools including Central School of Speech and Drama, Arts Ed, LIPA, ALRA, Urdang, Middlesex, Winchester, ST Mary's and Manchester Met. However we also expect that a significant number will use the Extended Diploma as a direct step into a career in theatre, film or television. Increasingly students are finding employment in a wide range of career areas where adaptability and presentation, coupled with technical and performance skills, are seen as vital employee characteristics.
