This course is designed for adults (19+) who have been out of full-time education for some time and are aiming to join university or higher education courses.
Entry Requirements
Entry is via interview, diagnostic exercises and satisfactory reference.
International Entry Requirements: High School Leaving Certificate at C grade or above or other related comparable qualification. IELTS 5.0 (with both 5 in reading and writing modules) or equivalent English Language Certificate. Satisfactory reference.
Course Duration
One year, part time, over two days
Content
The course is modular and therefore flexible enough to fit around your work and/or family commitments. Daytime study is spread over two days and is approximately 13 hours of study per week.
The media route of the access course will be a mixture of academic and practical options. Students will work on still photography and video production, producing a range of artefacts, including documentary and film trailer work. In addition, this work will be fully contextualised by relevant media and cultural theory.
Progression
Students can progress directly on to our own Foundation Degree in Media Skills or progress on to a wide range of courses in moving image, journalism, advertising, film and PR
Additional Information
The course is credit-based, which means you can accumulate nationally recognised credits as you complete work throughout the term. These credits add up to provide you with an approved Access Diploma. Accreditation is by the Open College Network London Region (OCN LR).
