This six week portfolio course in art and design is intended for anyone who wants to experience a 'mini foundation' in art and design. Are you someone who always wanted to study art and design? This may be the introduction you have been waiting for.
The course is highly structured, giving an introduction to traditional skills and more contemporary thinking in art and design practice. By the end of the course you will have work to enable you to assemble a portfolio, or you may want to complete the course for its own rewards. You may also consider using your portfolio to apply for our Foundation course. The creative environment will encourage you to be experimental, inventive and analytical, and will encourage you, as an artist and designer, to explore the creative thinking process necessary for a career in the art and design industry. The portfolio course will encourage independence and you will be expected to produce work outside of the class time as part of the building of your skills, knowledge and understanding. You should be prepared to work hard - the rewards are priceless.
