The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a two year full time course in Engineering. It provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development and manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. The course practical, work related and follows a manufacturing pathway developed by BTEC. Learning is achieved through the completion of projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A levels and allows progression to higher education or employment. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults.
Entry Requirements
GCSE grade B in Mathematics or Science and three other GCSEs grade C including English Language. Satisfactory references, attendance record and interview.
International Entry Requirements
High School leaving Certificate at Grade C or above (including Mathematics or Science). Satisfactory reference, telephone interview where required. IELTS 5.0 or an English Language equivalent certificate.

Progression
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering is an entry qualification to university. Alternatively, students have a guaranteed progression onto the Higher National Diploma in Engineering at Kingston College (in conjunction with Kingston University), or can seek employment as an Advanced Apprentice.
