NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy

The NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy course offers the opportunity to develop skills in beauty therapy, leading to employment in a thriving profession dedicated to helping people look and feel their best. 

Entry requirement

Applicants should have NVQ level 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent and be working in a salon which is an essential requirement to stay on the course Satisfactory reference, successful interview and screening.

International Entry Requirement:
High School Leaving Certificate at C grade or above or other related comparable qualification (NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy). IELTS 5.0 or equivalent English Language Certificate.  Satisfactory reference.  Telephone interview if required.

Course Duration

April and September 2012 start dates. One year - attending College three days per week. Additional days may be required in the beauty salon for practical assessments.

Content

Students follow the Edexcel National Vocational Qualification in NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy.

• Head and Body Massage
• Body Electrotherapy
• Facial Electrotherapy
• Intimate Female Waxing
• Indian Head Massage

Practical work is completed in the College’s purpose-built salons and theory rooms. All students receive tutorial guidance and are set personal targets to achieve. Continuous assessment of beauty therapy skills ensures satisfactory progress. Entry to the course entitles application for Student Membership of the British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (BABTAC). Membership enables students to attend national/international beauty events.

Progression

Employment (Beauty Therapist), Higher National Certificate in Salon Management, Foundation Degree in Complementary Therapies.

Information regarding specific course charges, equipment and materials, days of attendance and enrolment date will be given at advice and guidance sessions. Please note that all fees are payable to the College on enrolment.  Early application is advisable, as this course is popular.
