This course is designed to provide a practical and theoretical understanding of anatomy, physiology and body massage which will enable you to work in health and fitness centres, beauty salons or freelance.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of 18 years of age. Minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above to include a Science subject and a written and spoken English qualification (GCSE or equivalent). Students must be able to understand, read and write in English.
Course Duration
Our next course will commence in September 2012 and will run on a Wednesday evening, 6.30pm-9.30pm for 29 weeks.
Content
Units include:
- prepare for and provide body massage
- use interpersonal skills with therapy clients
- support employment standards
- support health, safety and security in the workplace.
Students will be required to provide models for practical assessments. To comply with College requirements students must wear College uniform during all practical sessions.
Students will be required to carry out assignments and case studies throughout the course. Progress is monitored by internal and external assessment and examination leading towards the Certificate in Body Massage validated by VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust). Students are required by VTCT to complete the necessary theoretical assessments in Anatomy and Physiology prior to any practical assessments.
Progression
VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage, VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Aromatherapy, VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Reflexology. Employment in the therapy/leisure industry.

Estimated Cost: £650 plus kit (£100 approximately). Please note, there are no concessions available on this course. Kit must be purchased before starting this course.
