This course is a specialist vocationally related qualification which will enable learners to gain, at a minimum, the skills, knowledge and understanding required in order to perform manicure and pedicure treatments. A range of nail technology techniques including the use of nail enhancements products also forms part of this qualification. Learners will be able to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding in order to perform professional nail treatments for clients via employment in the nail service industry.
Entry Requirements
Minimum age 18 years. Applicants must have a recognised qualification in written and spoken English (GCSE or equivalent). satisfactory reference
Course Duration
This course usually runs on a Tuesday evening, 6.30pm - 9.30pm for 34 weeks (September-July). Applicants with industry-recognised manicure qualifications can join the course in January 2013 - please enquire for further details.

Depending on the work required, students will need to provide a model. Students will also be required to build a portfolio of evidence.
External verification dates will be arranged during the day for which students must make themselves available.
Progression
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology (QCF) provides suitable progression to further level 3 studies. These may include VTCT Level 3 NVQ Certificates and Diplomas. Employment as a Nail Technician

Estimated Cost: £750 plus kit (£220 approximately). Instalment arrangement available on tuition fee and kit, please enquire for details.
Funding may be available for applicants who are under 19 or in receipt of JSA/ESA. This applies to the tuition fee only. There is no provision for financial assistance with exam fees or kit. Your kit must be purchased before starting the course.
