AQA Award in Introduction to Counselling Concepts

This course is intended for candidates who are curious about counselling and who want to find out more - maybe as a step towards further training or for their own personal development.

Course Content

The course aims to:

  • Provide an introduction to basic counselling skills and the beginnings of an understanding of counselling practice and ethics
  • Provide knowledge of some basic underpinning theory of counselling
  • Assessment includes an ongoing learning journal, a practical assessment of skills and an external exam (1 hour)

Course Duration

10 weeks, part time, Autumn or Winter start, Monday evening plus one Saturday.

Progression

Successful completion of this course would be useful to anyone considering applying for the Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Counselling.
