The ILM Level 5 Award in Management provides existing and aspiring middle managers with the tools and knowledge to develop the necessary robust skill set for successful middle management. 

Entry Requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements, this course is targeted towards practising or aspiring middle managers with responsibility for managing people and with some resource and budget autonomy. Prior to undertaking this course, candidates should meet with their manager to discuss the Award’s proposed learning outcomes and their relevant to your own development goals. There is also required pre-course reading which we ask all candidates to undertake.

Duration

The programme of study is completed over a 10-12 week period and comprises:
• Four full-day workshops
• One half-day group/individual tutorial
• Trainer-directed web links and electronic material for further development and independent study
• Tutorial support

Content

The ILM Level 5 Award in Management is a valuable tool in developing middle management skills and enhancing individual management performance. It comprises three units which combine to enable participants to develop, explore and demonstrate knowledge and skills in management.


Assessment


Assessment  is by submitting a 2000-2500 word work-based assignment and a reflective review of 1500-2000 words, demonstrating your understanding of the role of the middle manager and your ability to think and reflect critically about issues required to become an effective leader.
