One evening a week for 17 weeks, commencing Wednesday 2nd May 2012.

Content

The VTCT Level 2 Award in Photographic Make-up and Dressing Hair is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in the creative art of dressing hair and the imaginative application of photographic make-up.  You will learn a variety of artistic techniques which will allow you to create a range of hairdressing and beauty designs using professional products and tools.  The aim of this qualification is to develop your skills in hairdressing and provide you with a foundation for further learning, and to enable you to perform your own salon services.

Assessment

Candidates are assessed on the following: four external clients (dressing hair), three external clients (photographic make-up), and one multiple choice exam (dressing hair).

Progression

When you have successfully completed this qualification you will have the opportunity to progress onto a range of specialist hair and beauty qualifications, which include:

• Level 2 Hairdressing
• Level 2 Beauty Specialist
• Level 3 make up Artistry diploma
• Level 3 Certificate in Fashion/ Photographic Make up

This qualification may lead directly into employment in the hair and beauty industry as a junior stylist or Make up consultant or self employment.

Approximate cost: £400 plus Kit (approx £250)

All students will be expected to be a willing model during practice sessions and provide external models where possible for their practical assessment.
