The dedicated professional lecturing team offer industry level training in a wide range of practical and theoretical areas to ensure you are well prepared for progression onto higher education or into industry. You will work in our dedicated Creative Industries Centre and have access to specialist equipment.

During the course, learners will develop a portfolio of work ready for gaining apprenticeship. The course will enhance design and illustration skills and help build a business plan.

  • Entry Requirements


    Applicants should have completed the 1 year HNC Art and Design (Graphic Design) Tattoo Illustration or equivalent qualification with a compatible unit structure. An interview where you will need a portfolio and satisfactory reference. Mature students with relevant experience may also be considered.

    Maths and English GCSEs at grade C or above are also required

    Additional requirements

    References from an official email address (ie. NOT Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) This can be from your previous institution if you were a student in the last 4 years or from a line manager if you are currently working.

    Suitable applicants will be invited to interview, where they will be required to further demonstrate their suitability for the course by bringing a portfolio of artwork

    Credit transfer and accreditation of prior learning or experience:

    If you have achieved a qualification such as a foundation degree or HNC, or have gained credit at another higher education institution, you may be able to enter the course at level 5 or level 6.   • Progression Next Steps


    HND graduates may progress onto a range of Universities for Level 6 top up qualification to BA (Hons). The course also prepares graduates for work in the Tattoo Industry. On completion, students will have a stronger ability with art and graphic design and can apply for apprenticeships within the Tattoo industry

  • International Students


    This course is available for a student who requires a Student Route Visa to study in the UK. Suitable applicants requiring this will be contacted by our International and Compliance Officer, and guided through the process.
