Our typical offer is 32 UCAS points from at least two relevant A levels, or equivalent such as BTEC level 3 diplomas, Scottish Highers, the Irish Leaving Certificate or the Welsh Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate. At least 32 UCAS points from A Level or BTEC comparable qualifications. Mature students with relevant experience will also be considered. Please refer to the section on recognition of prior learning below. A portfolio of relevant art and design work to be presented on-line or at interview.

Additional requirements: References from an official email address (ie. NOT Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) This can be from your previous institution if you were a student in the last 4 years or from a line manager if you are currently working. Suitably qualified applicants will be invited to interview with a course tutor, where they will be required to further demonstrate their suitability for the course and given the opportunity to ask questions about the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) This is an inclusive term that enables the formal recognition, assessment and award of credit. It comprises Recognition of Prior Certified Learning and Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning If you have achieved a qualification such as a foundation degree or HND, or have gained credit at another higher education institution, you may be able to enter the course at level 5 or level 6. Teaching: You are taught mainly through practical workshops with some theory sessions. In addition, you have timetabled meetings with your personal tutor. You will use industry-standard equipment and have access to studios, workshops and library facilities throughout your course.

Independent learning: When not attending timetabled sessions you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve research, working on individual and group projects, preparing coursework assignments and presentations. Your independent learning is supported by a range of excellent facilities, including the library, the Undergraduate Centre, digital suites and specialist studios.

Assessment: The course provides you with opportunities to test your understanding of the subject informally before you complete the formal assessments that count towards your final mark. Regular formative feedback is provided with a final grade awarded for each unit upon completion. All assessment are spread across the year to make the workload manageable.

Overall workload: Your overall workload consists of class contact hours, independent learning, and assessment activity, While your actual contact hours may depend on the optional modules selected, the following information gives an indication of how much time you will need to allocate to different activities at each level of the course.
