It’s a dream come true for two Kingston College students and Women’s Football Academy members, Polly New and Steph Anes, who have just learned that they have been chosen to represent their country in British Colleges Sports (BCS).
Polly, 19, who is taking an NVQ Level 2 in Leisure Football Coaching and has been selected for the second year running, says: “I’m honoured to be reselected for the BCS England Squad. I’m looking forward to improving my overall game from last season and continuing our unbeaten record.”
Steph 16, who is studying Sports Training Principles and has just heard that she will be part of the team playing Australia in the first match of the season, comments: “It’s a privilege to be representing my country, it is a once in a life time opportunity and I am very excited to be playing against Australia.”
Adam Douthwaite, Director of the Women’s Football Academy, goes on to say: “Both Polly and Steph have done exceptionally well to be selected for the BCS England squad. For Polly this is the second year on the run she has been selected which is a tremendous achievement. Steph has been selected in her first year with the Academy which is a remarkable achievement and I hold very high hopes for both players in the future.”
In addition to the Women’s Football Academy Kingston College also runs established successful Academies in Men’s Football, Rugby, Tennis, Trampoline and Basketball.
