12 July 2010

Catherine Howett, Deputy Head of School, Performing Arts, has embarked on a mammoth overland bike ride in a bid to get young people to talk about HIV/AIDS.

Catherine has just set off on the journey to Thailand for the project called VOICES and the aim of the adventure is to gather opinions from young people, through one minute video clips of them explaining why they think the global rates of HIV/AIDS are continuing to devastate the lives of young people worldwide.

She is also hoping to raise money for two chosen charities. The Food Chain and The Camillian Social Centre.  The Food Chain provides home delivered meals to those who are chronically sick as a result of HIV related illness. The Camillian Social Centre was founded by Camillian missionaries and offers life giving support to children living with HIV/AIDS.

Follow Catherine’s progress on  www.onelittlewheel.com where you can sponsor her and can even sign up for blog updates.
