Beth Anne Lumb and Emma Britton, who are both second year BTEC extended diploma learners, took part in the annual Kingston Borough Sports Awards at Chessington Community College, an event which celebrates sporting achievement, effort and commitment. Both were presented with the London Youth Games trophy for which they were part of the winning team who took part in the June event.
They were also winners of the Borough Youth Team award and collected the perpetual trophy on behalf of the other team members Melissa Soden and Jenise Huxible Perrin who were also part of the British schools winning team and also the British colleges winning team.
That same week, both gymnasts took part in the first ever Welsh international cup held at UWIC University in Cardiff. Beth Anne and Emma formed part of the 3rd placed Ladies trampoline team and then went on to win bronze medals in the Ladies synchronised event.
Beth Anne also won the age group over 15 Double Mini Trampoline competition and led her team to victory in the team event as well.
The Borough Sports Awards are the highest accolade given by the Borough to recognise achievement and services to sport. The awards are presented to club personalities, teams, coaches and volunteers along with the borough’s national athletes and future young hopefuls of London Youth Games.
