On January 6th Kingstonfirst’s Tourist Information Centre welcomed two new members to the team under the Access to Apprenticeships scheme.
Malikah Faucher-Wynter and Camille Tancio are both studying for an Intermediate Customer Services Apprenticeship at Kingston College and will be working in the TIC for the next three months. The students will work three days a week in the TIC and receive training at Kingston College one day a week, developing their skills both in theory and in practice.
Rebecca Wright, Tourist Information Centre Manager, Kingstonfirst, said: “Strong customer service skills are vital to working within an organisation such as the Tourist Information Centre. We want to support local students improve their future employment chances by giving them the valuable experience that they need.”
Karen Wheatley, Head of Section - Service Industries, Kingston College, said: “We are delighted that our students are being given this opportunity to work with Kingstonfirst’s Tourist Information Centre. We hope the skills they gain from this experience will be a fantastic boost for them and show how beneficial apprenticeships can be.”
