Chloe Holmes, an NVQ beauty therapy student, came first in her regional heat which was held at East Surrey College. Lucy Arnold, a BTEC student, achieved third place in her heat.
Julie Watkins, Head of Section, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, said: “The entire team were delighted that our students did so well. They presented themselves professionally and performed their treatments to a high standard. The feedback from the judges was complimentary and encouraging. The students had strong competition and the standard in this heat was high.”
The next stage of the World Skills selection is for the highest scorers to compete in the national event. This will take place at the NEC in Birmingham in November.
