Kingston College Academy patron Alex Scott has been selected to represent Great Britain in Hope Powell's 18-woman squad for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Alex, a greatly experienced England international player, is the figurehead and patron of the Kingston College Women's Football Academy which competes in the Elite section of the British Colleges League.  Defender Scott has made the England right-back position her own and will be looking to do the same in the GB team.

Academy Director Adam Douthwaite comments, 'Alex is a true role model for all the players at the Academy and we will be hoping she has a gold medal to bring with her next time she is visiting.'

The GB squad had been drawn in a very tough group and will face New Zealand, Cameroon and Brazil in the pool stages.  Their campaign kicks off at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff on 25 July.
