Student Councils from all STCG Colleges gathered at Merton for our Student Conference to feedback the student view from across the group. The event featured a highly engaging keynote speech from Engagement Specialist & Motivational Speaker Kheron Gilpin, followed by interactive activities which set the tone of the day.

Panel members, senior leaders and managers all took part in the conference and issues discussed by students and staff included Mental Health, Safety, and Equalities (LGBTQ+, disability and BAME).

Following the conference, Kheron said: "The event was excellent, it was wonderful to see young people eager to step into leadership roles. STCG is actively encouraging student leadership and created a forum to amplify their student voice. The interaction between students, senior leaders and staff members was a beautiful sight. The students displayed a genuine interest in exploring student leadership and demonstrated a strong willingness to be role models and lead by example. The participation was high, making it novel, exciting and engaging. These aspects are integral to bringing about change."
