Engineering

In the UK the engineering industry is vast, with more than 6,000 organisations employing around 800,000 engineers. Career opportunities exist across a broad spectrum of sectors, from manufacturing and defence to renewable energy and transportation. Our courses include the study of the principles and practices of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, operations and maintenance engineering, aeronautical engineering and robotics.

Our students participate in National Science and Engineering Week, and the Engineering Section has strong links with large UK engineering companies such as British Airways Operations, Lufthansa, Heathrow Airport Ltd, Southwest Trains, GlaxoSmithKline, Network Rail and Imperial College. Our students maintain a high level of personal discipline and have the opportunity to mature into young people developing a level of integrity and team ethic as demanded by the industry.

We offer a wide range of full-time vocational engineering programmes from Level 2 to Higher Education, together with a large Apprenticeship provision for many employers.

"I like the opportunity that we are given to be able to work with real engineering companies for a week as work experience." Zenn Edwards, Engineering Student
